El-Baharia Oasis El-Baharia Oasis (Bahareya Oasis) is a depression in Egypt consisting of four main towns that is located approximately 370 kilometers north of Cairo. The oasis historically was an important transit point for caravans, as the northernmost oasis of Egypt. There have been important archaeological finds in the area, such as perfectly preserved mummies in "the valley of the golden mummies." El-Baharia Oasis serves as an excellent base for desert safaris, as well as boasts many hot springs for visitors to enjoy. |
